How this site makes money

Spyld Gaming is funded by display advertising and, on hardware and accessory articles, by affiliate links. If you buy something through an affiliate link we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. That is the complete list of revenue sources.

We are a participant in affiliate programmes operated by retailers including Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What the commission does not buy

• It does not decide the recommendation. Where the best option for a given budget is a product we earn nothing on, that is the product we name first. This has happened repeatedly and will keep happening.
• It does not decide the order. Lists are ordered by what we would actually buy, never by commission rate.
• It does not soften a verdict. If a product is bad we say it is bad, affiliate link or not — and often we simply do not link it at all.
• It does not appear undisclosed. Any article containing affiliate links says so at the top of that article, before the content, not in small print at the bottom.

Review samples

Occasionally a manufacturer sends hardware for review. When that happens the article states it plainly. Samples come with no conditions on coverage, no copy approval, and no obligation to publish at all. Nobody at Spyld Gaminghas ever accepted payment for a review, and we do not publish sponsored posts. See the editorial policy.

Technical disclaimer

The fixes, settings and optimisations published here are tested on the machines listed on our methodology page. Your system is not our system. Hardware revisions, driver versions, background software, regional network routing and account state all change outcomes, and a step that resolves an error for most readers will not resolve it for everyone.

Where an article involves registry edits, driver rollbacks, firmware, undervolting, overclocking or BIOS changes, those steps carry inherent risk including instability, data loss and — in the case of power and thermal settings — hardware damage. We flag those steps and provide a way to revert them. You are responsible for deciding whether to proceed, and for backing up your data first.
