Roblox Error Code 610: Cannot Join This Server, Explained
610 usually means the server you are trying to join is private, full, restricted or no longer exists. Here is how to tell which.

Roblox error code 610 means the join request was rejected by the server rather than failing to reach it. The usual causes are a private or VIP server you lack access to, a server that has shut down between the listing being generated and your join attempt, or an age or region restriction on the experience. Joining through a friend already in the server bypasses most of these.

610 is a rejection rather than a failure. The connection reached the server and the server said no.
That distinction matters because it rules out most of the network troubleshooting people reach for. Your DNS is fine. Your firewall is fine. The server just is not accepting you.
Rejected, not unreachable
Connection errors like 277 and 279 mean the client could not maintain a route. 610 means the route worked and the join was declined. Different problem, different fixes.
Which case is it
Step 1: Try joining a different server
Refresh and pick another server 1 minute
Go back to the experience page, refresh it, and choose a different server from the list. Server listings are snapshots and go stale within seconds, so a server that shows as available may have filled or closed already.
If a different server works, you are done. This resolves the majority of reports.
Step 2: Check whether the experience is age restricted
Some experiences are restricted to accounts above a certain age, and the rejection surfaces as a generic join error rather than an explanatory message.
Check the date of birth on the account under Settings, Account Info. Note that Roblox restricts how and how often this can be changed, and setting a false date of birth violates the terms of service.
Step 3: Join through a friend
If a friend is already inside the experience, joining through their profile routes you to their specific server and bypasses the server selection process entirely.
This is also a useful diagnostic. If joining through a friend works, the problem was server selection. If it produces the same error, the restriction is on your account or on the experience.

Does 610 mean I am banned from the game?
Not usually. A game-level ban typically produces error 267 with a message from the developer. 610 is a rejected join for structural reasons: the server is private, full, shut down or restricted. If every server in an experience gives you 610 and others can join freely, a ban becomes more plausible.
Why does it happen on a private server link?
Private server links expire, and access can be revoked by the owner. If the link is old or the owner's private server subscription lapsed, the server no longer exists and the join is rejected. Ask the owner for a current link before troubleshooting anything else.
Can region restrictions cause 610?
Yes, in a small number of experiences that restrict access by region, and in cases where a VPN places you somewhere unexpected. If you use a VPN, disable it and retry. This also resolves cases where the VPN exit point is on a network Roblox has restricted.
The server list shows it as available. Why can I not join?
Server listings are a snapshot and can be a few seconds stale. A server that filled or shut down after the list was generated still appears joinable. This is why simply refreshing the list and picking a different server resolves so many 610 reports.
