The 2811 family is different from 2110-3127. Those errors mean the console cannot reach Nintendo. These mean it reaches Nintendo fine and then fails to connect to other players.
That distinction points the fix list at NAT and ports rather than DNS.
Check NAT type first
The console's connection test reports it. Type A or B is fine. Type D means something structural, usually double NAT, and no amount of in-game troubleshooting will help.
Step 1: Check your NAT type first
Run System Settings, Internet, Test Connection. Read the NAT type in the results.
Type D is the one to act on. It almost always means double NAT: your ISP's modem-router combo doing address translation, and your own router doing it again.
The fix is to put the ISP device into bridge or modem-only mode so only one device translates. That is a call to your ISP or a setting in their admin page, and it fixes a whole category of problems beyond the Switch.
Step 2: Enable UPnP before manual port forwarding
UPnP lets the console request the ports it needs automatically. It solves this problem with a fraction of the effort of manual forwarding.
Log into your router's admin page, find UPnP, enable it, restart the router and retest. For most households this moves NAT from C or D to B and the errors stop.
Step 3: Forward ports manually if UPnP is unavailable
If your router lacks UPnP or you prefer not to use it, forward manually. This needs two steps in order:
- Assign the Switch a static IP, either in the console's network settings or as a DHCP reservation in the router. Without this the forwarding rules point at an address that changes.
- Forward the ports Nintendo specifies for online play to that address, covering both TCP and UDP as documented.
